My secret companion!

I woke up this morning and knew that she was there, her presence a reminder of a night without much sleep. She held me all night long without a care, her touch and her caress penetrating more than skin deep.

She knows who is in my mind
and pushes me to forget,
she watches me closely in silence,
trying not to get upset.

She sits at the table and my cup of coffee she shares, Im nostalgically remembering who is that moment reserved for. She quietly sits in my car as I move forward, another day awaits lets see how good I fare.

All day I work and both are in my mind,
constant drifting not an end in sight.
Back in the car listening to the same songs,
a relationship I never wanted to last too long.

Its three o'clock in the morning, and I just cant sleep,
outside the rain is pouring, this is not where I want to be.
Its time to kick her out, this is getting lame. You all know my often secret companion,
loneliness is her name.

What a beautiful post.

Lonliness can indeed be a powerful emotion. I too have struggled with it at times, and then I have looked at my live and learn to be my own best friend. To love myself, and what I do and who I am..It makes the ground a bit less rocky.

Hve a good week.

Fuuny, there are times I savor my secret companion; it can be refreshing to be alone.

Over time, though, I guess it can quickly become a heavy burden.

Great post. Have a geat weekend.

Beautifully written and so evocative. Loneliness has a way of catching one off guard at times.

As much as I enjoy being alone at times, I don't enjoy the feeling of loneliness. It can be painful, especially when you feel that way and yet are surrounded by others. It's a disconnect or something and it often conjures up negative thoughts and all that.

However, because it is a powerful emotion, it can be the muse one needs to write creatively......especially poetry. Weird that way.

Loneliness feels like a grey mid-February day around dusk. And the music in the background really sucks!

Being alone? Can be spiritually uplifting, relaxing, energizing, and soul enhancing. The music in the background is always much more soothing. There's a connect.

happy Monday! argggh.

Awareness... Im laughing at your last sentence.. Happy and arrggghh. how do they go together?

I think that Friday was a matter of contrast, I had a couple of good things happened to me.. years ago, a little ego trip would have being enough.. not nowadays.

Hey T-! Loneliness can truly take over at times and it can prevail even when you are in a crowded room. It's time that she pack her bags and go! You are a great friend and your never alone!! XOXO
